This Cookie Policy explains how Helmo AI ("Helmo", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our platform.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your login session or display preferences, making your next visit easier and the site more useful to you.
2. Cookies We Use
Helmo uses only the following categories of cookies:
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. Without them, you cannot log in or use core features. They cannot be disabled.

- CSRF token — protects against cross-site request forgery attacks.
Preference Cookies
These cookies remember your settings to personalise your experience.
- Theme preference (
helmo-theme) — remembers whether you prefer dark or light mode. Stored inlocalStorage, not a traditional cookie. - Language preference (
helm_locale) — remembers your chosen language (Italian or English). Stored inlocalStorage. - Remember me — stores your email address to pre-fill the login form if you opted in. Stored in
localStorage.
Analytics Cookies (Production Only)
In production, we use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how users interact with Helmo in aggregate. These tools collect anonymised data such as pages visited, session duration, and general geographic region.
- No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.
- No financial data is ever sent to analytics services.
- Analytics are disabled in development and staging environments.
3. What We Do Not Use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No third-party social media tracking pixels.

4. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete existing cookies.
- Block cookies from specific sites.
- Block all third-party cookies.
- Clear all cookies when you close the browser.
Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to Helmo. For instructions specific to your browser, visit its help documentation.
5. localStorage and sessionStorage
In addition to cookies, Helmo uses browser localStorage and sessionStorage to store preferences and temporary session data. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings.
